Level 2 Award for Up-skilling Door Supervisors

Course Duration 2 Day (plus pre-course study)
Who should attend?
This award is for all existing door supervisors who have previously achieved a door supervision qualification prior to summer 2010, e.g. National Certificate for Door Supervision, and need to undertake additional top up training in order to renew their SIA licence.
Course overview
The Level 2 Award for Up-skilling Door Supervisors is a qualification that has been developed to meet the mandatory SIA top up training requirement for Door Supervisors who undertook their training prior to June 2010. The qualification meets the SIA’s mandatory top-up requirements and appropriately qualified learners who complete the qualification will be eligible to apply to renew their SIA Door Supervisors licence.
The qualifications consist of two units:
1. Safety awareness for door supervisors
2. Physical Intervention Skills for the Private Security Industry
Assessment criteria
Safety awareness for door supervisors is assessed by an externally set and marked multiple-choice question paper consisting of 10 questions. The examination will last for 20 minutes and attendees will be required to correctly answer 7 of the 10 questions (70%).
Physical intervention skills for the private security industry is assessed through observation and questioning.

Key Holding and Alarm Response

This is a two day course which will provide the necessary skills and techniques for Key holding and alarm response roles. It will provide you with the necessary skills to work in key holding & alarm response environments which comply with BS7984:2008, and also meets the SIA Approved Contractor status.
Course duration
2 days (16 hours).
Who should attend?
Anyone who wants to work in the security industry specifically in the area of mobile patrols, alarm response and key holding. This course ensures that all key holding and alarm response staff complete 16 hours of formal classroom training, as required by the BS 7984:2008 standard. This course also meets the audit conditions for those wishing to update their skills and remain ACS compliant.
